Let Silver Anniversary Edition out of Captivity yesterday

Post by Sandy »

and took her (top down) to a Bar-B-Que. NOBODY batted an eye at her ! When parked, I installed her bonnet (you'll recall that I bought last season's end). It looks especially cool with that on, and protects the interior from fading.
She needs a new passenger's (interior door panel) power door lock switch. The switch will LOCK that door but will not UNlock it. The door lock does respond to lock & UNlock from the driver's door control. I order one today and problem is that it's gonna rain all week, until next Saturday. I'll take her next Saturday AM, like 9AM. Her entire road trip, yesterday was 16 miles.

Next to go out will be THE Coupe. Next Week.

Good to hear the BOTH of you got out and got some sun. The daytime temp here is just hitting 100, so I have had the '89 out the last 4 nights.

I don't understand Sandy, my car get whoops and thumbs ups all the time, and it's far from the condition any of your cars are in! Maybe it's just Jersey?

Glad to see you up and about again!! Keep gettin' out there!

Shiny Side Up!

There are so so so many BMWs & Benz here in Jersey, that it's sickening. Loads of Jags & Audis, too. N.J. drivers are just swept away and hypnotized by these things.

Most of the cars there were SUVs, heavy on Explorers & Tahoes. Not a car-group, at all. Just as an example, I felt 100% that day. This AM I an so sick-feeling I can't do a thing. THAT is why I can never make plans - everything is wait & see what THAT day brings.

I will tell you that the hernia surgery on May 1st - 26 days ago - was way way way more hurtful, painful than the Cancer surgery ever was, plus the hernia Dr was lousey compared to my Cancer Dr - who should be lifted to Sainthood !

I chirped the tires once on the way home, had the top down and she never looked better. My next show is this coming Sunday - but I cannot take a car, as if your car is in the show, you can't leave until it's over.
That's waaaay to long for me! Have to be "in place" by 9:30AM and cannot leave until 5:00 PM. I can't do that, yet. Too long for me.It's too bad as it the best car show in Northern N.J.

I especially like it because weird & long forgotten cars in pristine condition come out. You know cars you have not seen in ages, and like new.

Just to recall a few
58 DeSoto Adventurer 6 Bbl. Convert 98 pt car
1970 AMC Rebel "Machine" 401 4Bbl 4-Speed
A 8,500 mile 1st year 1962 Grand Prix
A 1960 CORVAIR Station Wagon
A Hurst 4.4.2. A Buick Gran Sport 1967 Convert A/C & 4-Speed
Several asorted Edsels
Several Hudsons
Many Many Corvettes & a few jag XKEs, Several Imperials + 4-Dr 'Vert Lincoln Continentials.
In all, about 175 cars.
