on Capri Verts if you put put frame ties on do you need a special type of
frame ties, because of the extra bracing?

I believe any extra frame support is done above the floor pan. I don't recall seeing anything extra on the bottom side.

Subframe connectors will not interfere. The 84-86 'vert have a 'spine' that is welded along the transmission tunnel. I have some photos of my car when the interior was out...
