the value of these cars needs to rise so it is worth restoring or hank needs to bring the prices down on his asc mclaren parts. i think they need to make a movie with one in it. so it has a comeback like the shelbys did.

Hanks prices haven't changed in 10 years. So in effect, they do get cheaper every year.

just bought mine. if hanks prices have been what they are for ten years i guess your right. we all just need to quit lossing are jobs in this bad economy and maybe people would make a little more. so we could spend a little more on our hobby. it does not help when i am paying a $54000.00 note on my 07 shelby. guess im doing to much at one time.

I've offered mine for 2 or 3 movies and was turned down each time because it was white. I was all set to do "Young Americans" until the last question-color. Some of you are near major cities, find out who does the casting and offer your car. It's really a fun way to spend a day on a movie set.

That just means the parts prices were high to begin with..... The other poster has a point, look at what ASCs have been going for and then look at some of the parts prices..... I cringe when I see "GT" parts on ASCs, but on the other hand..... $$$

Thats really interesting..... Not being close to the whole hollywood scene, how does that scenario work? What if they damage your car? They pay for all repairs? What about some of the elaborate camera mounts for cars for different scenes???

I vaguely remember an 80s movie that showcased a Red ASC that Keanu Reeves drove......... I need to buy that movie...

I think some movie character needs to drive an ASC Coupe. Lot's of movies shot in Dallas...maybe I can throw #77 out there.

I know there are a few pieces are what I would consider high but looking the prices over, they look fairly reasonable.

Hank will deal a bit for large orders. If you need an entire front air dam setup...he has been known to give a price break.

Anyone who really thinks his prices are high, needs to sell their asc and buy an early Saleen missing all its Saleen parts. Then tell me how cheap it is to restore.

svt1996cobra, one of the guys on here from Michigan did that and I got a note from him saying how he takes back everything he said about Hank's high prices.

I guess its just perspective. If you come from the fox body hobby where everything is cheap and easy to get, then you feel that the prices are high.

If you come from dealing with rare off-beat cars, you're just happy to have the supply at hand. I've searched the ends of the earth for some parts and it's worth a 50% markup just to know I can pick up the phone for a part.

so many movies are being filmed in detroit now... it would be so cool to see an asc in a new movie.

Here in Phoenix they usually shoot a movie or two in spring and fall. Our local agency (www.goodfaithcasting.com) sends out emails looking for extras and vehicles as needed. They contacted our local Mustang club and we set it up. A couple of years ago they needed a '67 vert for a shampoo commercial. They paid Sharon "well" to use her car for one day. Later in the day they called and asked if they could have a glass company remove her windshield so the models hair could blow. Car came back just as before and they paid her extra. I got to be a banker (without my white car though).
