Special Equipment Parts List

Post by 85McLaren »

Does anyone have the Special Equipment Parts Lst from Ford when they bought or acquired their mclaren ?

I have a sheet supposibly from my dad's 85 mcLaren coupe that is Equipment Parts List with a bunch of part numbers on it like:

Prefix BASE SUFFIX DESCRIPTION Option Number
E5ZB 6129426 BP3PB MOULDING 5393200

There a probably 17 or 18 parts and descriptions on it.

Just wanted to verify this sheet was mcLaren specifc items....?? This sheet was dated 02/18/1985 with a field called SPECIAL ORDER NO. -16-6998. Assembly Plant - DEARBORN. TOTAL UNITS - 0001.

I can probably scan this to a file tonight and post it if anyone wants to see it ?

Yes, and 2 have been posted on this site. One for the 87-90 Mustang and 1 for thr 1984-1986 Merc. Capri CONVERTIBLE. We lack the one that you have, that being for the COUPE of 84 85 & 86. It would be good to post it, if you would. Thanks !

Does it look like this? This is for a coupe. More pages of it are here: http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/ascLiterature/

Yes - that is it. I guess the special order number is unique per car. I figured it would be the same per mclaren coupe with the same 'stuff'....

Could be coincidence also, but mine is also written for the 28th on the bottom. My top date is 02/18/1985. Wish we could see a third one....

Everything is EXACTLY the same as far as the PARTS LIST 'stuff' goes. The only differences are the SPECIAL ORDER NO. and the DATE of course....

Check out the GP4 album. Seems to be quite a bit of stuff.

Are these lists something that was included in the owners paperwork or are they 'hidden' in the car somewhere like a build sheet?

They aren't hidden. They should have been given to the original owner. This is kinda a checklist as well as a sheet for ford service mechanics to know what different parts came on the car when being serviced....

This is the envelope I found that contained the parts list. If you read the envelope. it says that it to be kept by the customer and the dealer. It would be interesting to see which dealers actually have this envelope and parts list still with the cusomters from the original dealerships these were sold at.... I think I probably know the answer to this.... Maybe - someone would get lucky if they were the original owner and STILL go to the SAME dealership that they bought the car from ?

Mike (negsum) - i don't know if you have this envelope on your site or not, but if you don't - here it is....
