ASC Capri coupe in OH ???

Post by KHummel66 »

This 86 looks like it has McLaren seats (no red piping) and it has the rear wing, but no other obvious asc parts.

I think the pic is washed out. I think they have a tinge of red. But who knows with those crappy pictures.

Looks to me like it also has the ASC smoked covers on the rear side windows. Should email for the VIN.

Steering wheel looks like a normal one with the GT/RS medallion in the center. It does look like it may have sail panel inserts.

Anyone want to check it out?

Buddy of mine is calling this afternoon for the VIN. It may be a eurocoupe. That would explain the regular steering wheel.

The car is actually not too far from me, but I got in-laws in town till next week so I'm not sure how soon I could go check it out.

It's odd that it may have the sail panel inserts (hard to tell for sure from the pics), but it has an RS air dam and no other ground effects.

How can you tell it has an RS airdam?

In the lower right picture, you can see a raised vertical 'rib' at the rear of the air dam (just in front of the tire). The asc air dams don't have that. The factory RS ones do. And thinking about it some more, some aftermarket ones may have had that as well.

Right hand lower photo shows a wide shadow in front of the sailpanels, there would be no shadow there if it was wearing the window panels as they mount flush with that area.
