Top question

Post by MIKE'SVO »

My buddy's body shop got in a 1989 ASC Mustang. They are having problems with the top. The tonneau cover will realease and pop up in the back when you push the switch in the up position (switch located on the D/S inner quarter). When you push the switch down, nothing happens. By pushing the switch down, does that release the top from the tonneau cover so it can fold down? What is the correct procedure in lowering the top? I have a '86 coupe, so have not idea about the operation of the Mustang converts.
Thanks in advance!

No, after the tonneau pops keep the button pushed in the up position. the top will unscrew from the tonneau. you might even place your fingers under the lip of the top so you can feel it release. word of caution when you put the top back up. make sure the tonneau is closed and latched. position the screw inside the receiver. keep your fingers of your free hand under the lip again and press the switch down, when it starts to put pressure on your fingers, stop. over tightening can seize up the mechanism.

I am honored ! Made my weekend.

It's funny when one has children the fireworks is a big deal However when the "child" is 26 and a C.P.A. & spends most of his time out of the house & with friends, male & female types :D and only uses his home as a crash pad, and Mom & Dad are both 63, fireworks cease to be a major event. SO, to that, this evening my wife is cleaning up the house & doing some laundrey, and I am on here, after having slept a bit (Okay, I took a nap) I was tired from watching my neighbor work hard on his garden. He wore me out. I cannot watch him, any longer. I went to Car-Condo in the Silver '90 and brought home the blue '90. (changing of the guard ) :shrug nuttin' else to do.

I have a few PMs requests, so I am gonna go do that, now.
We got chinese foo delivered 2-nite. Fried Lice & egg rolls and after that I had a RC Cola and chips. Now, sipping a Rolling Rock beer ...
Major bored.
I am beginning to miss working. But, nobody would hire me. I need 10 days a month off for Chemo & Chemo Revovery. In the beginning it was great, not working, Now? It suksss.

Okay, off to answer McLaren e-mails..... :drinkers:

Sandy, that made me laugh out loud, "watching my neighbor work hard on his garden" the wife and I have been outside in the hundred plus degree heat plugging holes (about 50) in our kids pool. I put sunblock on. the wife however...well lets just say I am spraying her ass (literally) with Windex to take the sting away. so I am tuckered out as well.

Now she is stuck on the couch so I am bored, but I am also sipping on the beer, Boston Lager though.

Big car show in Washington is coming up soon, been getting the Vert, Truck and trailer ready, while the wife is busy buying the kids crap to keep them occupied during the trip up the coast. I told her a tranquilizer will work best... she still hasn't responded to me on that one. :?

Sleeping Pill ??

One day, yes.... one day..... you are gonna miss these days when the kids are young! When they get into their mid 20s and do not know you any longer and oft 4-get where their home is.

The more independant they get, the less they know you and the forget where they live. It's all natural, 'ya do know that !
