'86 CONVERTABLE ASHTRAY

I Have a question 'bout the ashtray in my car. Does anyone know what these are out of originally? Thanks for any info.

I guess I should not assume that they are from a standard Mustang 1987-1993 ?? Of course not, or you would not ask that question!

Soooo, I do not know, but often there is a part # stamped on the bottom. Have a look-see. Let me know.

SANDY, Thanks for the reply.I'll check that out. Was just thinking that it could be part of the "HINTZ 57" kit ,so often used on our cars. And I say that with no disrespect . But to highlight the uniqueness of these creations.

'Ya know, I often have a fuzzy recall, now, due to the Chemo. However, I took a break, and my last Chemo was the last week of May. I am due to begin, anew, this Monday. I had an 8 week break. "VACATION" of sorts.
So, at this point, I have regained 98% of my memory, and most of it is pretty sharp. (For which I am amazed !!!). So, I was thinking about the ash tray and it seems to me, in another lifetime, that I heard that it was a REAR SEAT unit from a Town Car....Year Unknown.

My '90 Blue one is here, at home, I will go - later - and see if there is a part # stamped in or on it. If so, I will post it........here.

I went out to the garage. I looked. There are absolutely NO part # s on
any side of the ash tray. AZip. Nada. Nuttin. I did measure the size of the actual silver metal ash tray. 3 inches long, about 1 & 3/4 inches tall (heigh) and 2 inches w-i-d-e. Heavy silver metal. Best I can do for you, at this time.

Sandy, the 87+ cars didn't have the custom console like the 85-86 versts did, correct?

Plus the 87+ ash trays were not even made yet when 86 cars were being built.

If someone has a pic, I might be able to ID it. I am sure it came from an 84-86 car somewhere. May have even been a standard 86 ash tray.

The 84-86 ash tray is pretty much all plastic. It does not look like a Ford part. There is a part number inside the holder but the screw hole is drilled thru it. Mine was blue but painted black. I'll try to post some pics.
