SUN VISORS ON 'VERTS

Hi, I hope everyone is having a good summer. Just want to throw this out there, to see if I'm the only one this gets to. Since the 'verts had top cut off, and the windshield raked back,but they left on the stock sun visors on the cars. It's not that I have a big head, But this proved tobe a PIA. And I am not one to put my baseball hat on to see where I've been.So how do I get around this? To take them off ? No. Looked like something was missing. Went on the hunt for another set of visors. Got them,cut them in half, and redid them to match . Now there is lots of head room , and my Wife is happy with her side of the car. Case solved !

All 4 years of the Mustang verson had DIFFERENT sun visors.
I am not sure which year had what, so I am not going to try & guess, but

One year had a passenger side only illuminated vanity mirror, another year had dual illuminated vanity mirrorS, and another year had NO vanity mirror and the 1990s had a non-illuminated regular vanity mirror. The 1990's sun visors with "curled" (not flat). I know that the 1988s were flat, not sure on the 1987/1989s.

I took mine off long ago. I made up little filler blocks to fill in the mounting holes. I usually have a hat handy when the top is down. I'm 6' 2" so not much room to start with. There are some companies on ebay that make sun visors but none of the repos seem to have mirrors.

Well my 88 has dual mirrors no illumination and they are flat. However, my car has a lot of 87 parts on her so I dont know what the late builds have. I never use them at all and have never had a problem with them. Although I do drive mine with the seat back raked back a bit. When I do drive her that is

Yes, 1988s have dual mirrors (with covers) Non-Illuminated.
On that, I am 100% sure, ditto 1990 with only a passenger mirror,
long (left to right) and narrow (top to bottom). The Visors are curved
like this: ( ) - which is never seen on a 1987-1989. It's the 1987s that seem to have a couple of differnt types.

All I know is, for years the damn things constantly fall down into my face on the slightest bumps....... annoying.

HI, Sorry I didn't get back sooner.Had to run hard this week, a lot of liquid to move around . But it pays the bills.Happy to see I was not alone on the visors. My '86 also has dual mirrors,with covers. Seems like the Capris didn't have the adjustment screws ,to hold them in place. Well, we all found our own way of dealing with it. That's "The American Way".Thanks for all the input,Maybe we could help someone else out there.
