which car 2 buy?87red/blk top/tan int or 88tripleblu

Post by jquest »

the 87 has 7500 miles,nu tires,brakes, $5000, 88 has 14000 miles,,just had $2000 invested,I assume nu tires,tune up,etc...,87 has some rust in rear quarter,and trunk lid. 88 is mint,and is owned by a older lady,who is the original owner.,she is asking $10000. I intend 2 use the car 1 or twice a week in good weather,and probably garage it in the winter,as I live in NY. Both cars r unfortunatly,automatic. any advice would b appreciated,as I m a newbie. thanx

Manual verts are rare. They are touring cars and were not meant as performance cars.

Why does the 87 need so much work with only 7500 miles?

Sounds like the old lady's is a true low mileage car while the 87 has something to hide.

Offer $8k for the 88. A mint car holds its value WAY more than one that needs work. That $5k 87 car sounds like a $3500 car.

Pics would help immensely too.

^^^^^^^. I agree with Mike. Plus the blue ones are really sweet looking. Eight is about all the money in this economy. Howabout some pics?

Rust on the rear end is not good. The rear of these cars was hand fabercatied, not off the shelf mustang stuff. Could cost alot to fix.

Also, don't use the term "invested" with cars. Invested money is supposed to come back to you.

With cars, it's called pissin your money down a hole.
