Dad gets his Mustang MACH 1 back after 24 years

24 years ago Rick Lookebill, had to part ways with his first car, a 1972 Mustang MACH 1. Over the years he has talked of wanting to locate it and they even ran across it once in Clinton, Illinois in 1999. Recently, he has had a "spark" in his interest of finding it and his family was able to locate it for him three weeks ago.

car looks original & decal says it's a Boss 351! even better!

This is a Mach1 not a Boss. No Boss in 72. There was a R code in 72 but hydraulic lifters H.O. and they are rare(366). Also the Boss hoods where black and this car is automatic which was not availaible on a Boss.

i didint look at the car that close. seen it was a 71/72 body & color & boss351 on the fenders.
didint pay attention to the trans & hood. so either someone put the boss stickers on a mach1, or they put an auto trans in a boss (it did get drag raced!).
either way, cool story.
