Trunk Release Circuit

Post by 854mfun »

Everything was working perfectly on my car just a couple of weeks ago but now my trunk release button in the glove compartment will not open the trunk. Everything else seems good as far as the top release and motor and everything else I have checked in the car, just not the trunk release. The wiring diagram I found on ascmcalren.com says that after the button in the glove box the next only other switch is a "tonneau cover switch". Does anyone know where that is located? It doesn't look like it is part of the pull down motor to me but I'm not sure where it is.

If memory serves me correctly, there is a white interlock switch on the left trunk lid hinge. This is to prevent the tonneau from opening while the trunk is open. From there it probably goes into the relay box in the trunk. I do not believe there is a sensor for the tonneau up or down. There is a switch on the pull down motor to stop the motor.

Correction: the drawings and pictures show a tonneau cover switch "N". Not exactly sure where it is. Not too far from the ground wire.
