Yes, it was thought thatit might have been hit in the front, as it wears a Capri GS (chrome) grille. It's been 4-sale for over 2 years at that location and on e-bay many many times.

I wonder how long an owner will leave a car on his used car lot in order to extract what he thinks is an appropriate price out ot it.

Normally a month, unless he is "buried" in it. (Pricewise)!!

1986 Option on Convertible ascMcLarens:-

"Sports Decor Package"

a) Lower front air dam/fascia incorporating Hella Fog Lights
b) Side lower rocker panel ground effect skirting
c) Rear Under Bumper Air Valance with exhaust pipe cutouts
d) Front lexan plastic headlight covers
e) Rear tinted lexan plastic tailamp covers
f) 120 speedo read out
g) Specific ascMcLaren floor mats

Basiclly it was the parts from the COUPE, added to the 'Vert.
(Not offered on the 1985 'Verts, only 1986).

If a selling dealer ordered 3 units in the "new-for-Spring-Selling-Season" of Paris Blue Metallic (1) AND Atlantic Blue Metallic (1) and Platinum Silver Metallic (1) he got the Sports Decor Group on all 3 at no invoice. Meaning it was listed on the window sticker for the $1,395.00 and on the dealer's Invoice it was listed at N/C (No Charge).

Ordered on a ascMcLaren Red, Jet Black, Keweenau White car it was charged to the dealer at the $1,186.00 pricing.

Which is WHY almost every one i've seen with the Sports Decor Group has been 1 of the 2 blues, or silver !!

The option came out in March of 1986.

MSRLP was $ 1,395.00 Invoice was $1,186.00

My '86 has the Sports Decor Group, and is red. Yay for me! I really like the way the air dam looks on these cars.

You could then bet the farm that a retail customer ordered the car. A dealer takes the easiest course to lower the invoice price to him. Imagine dealer A has your car.....and dealer B 16 miles away has a silver one, "JOE SHOPPER" visits dealer B and gets a price & then goes to dealer A, who has the same car, but it's gonna cost Mr. Shopper $1,186.00 more, (AT DEALER'S COST) and right away dealer A is a "crook" ~ right? You know it ! Somethings it's not worth even trying to explain to customers, 'cause they'll never believe it anyhow !!!!!!

and my 86 SC is red also...with that option. I just thought all of them got it...cool. I realized my Recaros were optional, but thought the ground effects and light covers were standard. I personally don't care for the light covers..but...
