Mclaren Engine

Hello all...I was thinking of asking Mclaren Engines of Farmington Hills Mi if they would rebuild my engine in my car. I have about 90,000 miles and I was wondering if that would make my car more valuable. Having a Mclaren engine in a Mclaren car.

I think the answer would be "yes". The value would be from the fact that the engine is rebuilt correctly by a respected engine rebuilder and not so much from the name.

If you are having it rebuilt by McLaren how does that make it a McLaren motor unless they modify it to their specs? The only mod some of these cars had was the B cam and that was just the coupes not including euro.

In essence like Mike said its not the name sake you can have it rebuilt by say for instance Ford or a licensed mechanic to the original Ford specs. What makes it valuable is that its the original engine to the original specs rebuilt. Probably be allot cheaper too have it done elsewhere then a place like McLaren or Roush unless you are getting a suped up motor and that takes away from value. Any deviation with mods or replacing the engine altogether would hinder the value.
