help on restoration

I am restoring a 1986 ascmclaren convertable red with tan top i need to know the right carpet color i found out that that the capri color for 86 was buckskin with sand beije trim but if you say that the colors are the same as mustang, Acc does not have buckskin as an color option? Just want to get it right the first time if you can help.....

Whoever your vendor is, contact them and they will send you several swatches of carpet colors for you to match. www.50resto.com is a very good vendor for this.

ACC makes a pallette of colors and they don't use the same names because what is "Sand Beige" in a Ford car may be another name for a Chevy.

The Sand Beige interior color in the Capri is identical to the same name in the Mustang. The cars shared the same interior colors (and exterior colors, too). The red exterior paint on your car is Audi's "Laser Red" code H1H1 and/or Porsche's "Guards Red" ~ Code POR 027. It was also used on the final year Merkur XR4Ti (1989) as "Radiant Red" - Code OP.

However, there are different "cuts" for the carpet. I know that on the 1987-1990 Mustang McLaren the carpet was the cut from the convertible Mustang, and NOT from the coupe nor hatchback. At Ford's Dearborn plant when the car was made the convertible CUT carpet was rolled and taped and tossed into the trunk, for installation by ascMcLaren in Livonia.
