The Motorsport Capri Registry has been updated.
this months updates include the documentation of a new car & a website dedicated to the restoration of a 85 motorsport capri among other things.

Under " PROMO ITEMS " that last car with the checkered flags looks mighty familiar!!

It's interesting to note that the G.P. IV cars were all built slightly different, you have solid roofs, sun roofs & steel roofs, with & w/out Pwr. Locks and some with Automatic Tranny. I'd guess this indicates that they were not built uder a D32 code. Yes, or No ? Looks like they were randomly taken from the assembly line.
I'll have an auto with locks & T-Top in Silver, please. Will you take my deposit ?

Looks like they were randomly taken from the assembly line

most were taken off the line but in batches & in nearly consecutive order.
others were pulled from dealers lots. if you look at all the numbers you can tell which were pulled from lots & which came from the line.

I'll have an auto with locks & T-Top in Silver, please.

good luck. only 2 autos have been found. both had solid roofs,both white. both automatics probably were the back up pace/saftey cars on the track.
it is rumoured that 1 of the silver cars was an auto with a sunroof.
but this probably is false. the missing silver car more than likley does have a sunroof & is car 615263. but it probably has the 5-speed.

From looking at my vin# 615388 and a few before i would gather mine was pulled off the line. And do you think mine was the highest vin# of them built? looks most likley just wondered what your thoughts were on that.

Always good to see new updates to these cars.

I am amazed at how much information you have tracked down about these small number of cars.

tracking down the cars is the hard part. not that getting the other info & things hasnt been tough. its tough because of the fact that no records were kept(that i have been able to track down after 17 years).

david,
there is a good chance yours may be the last vin. there may be one or 2 after it. time hopefully will tell. there is a few vin #'s that i have a feeling are pace cars but cant prove it til i actually find them (example:615263 & 615385) so there may be a 615389.

I Guess only time will tell would be neat to have the highest vin# of them and most likley the one of the best documented lowest mile one for what that is worth time will most def tell on that!
